Have a Z4M autocrossing. I'm going to take my Z4 to the track on Friday, and I just finished up the tech inspection (I've had the wheels off that car more times in the past 48 hours than the analogy of your choice). However, I need to think about what I should actually bring with me to the track (i.e. make a last minute shopping list)

So far, I have my safety gear (SA2010 helmet, and other required safety gear), and probably a few assorted snacks and water bottles.

Should I go this week and get a GoPro/other camera to record me not crashing? Anything else I'm clearly missing and should get?

I don't know about the Z4, but I heard changing the brake fluid can be a good idea, and pads. Other than that you should be good to go.

I did new Pagid S (front) and Hawk HP (rear) pads this weekend along with some fluid.

Would only work if I had an E89, sadly. Mounts would be needed as the trunk is different on the roadsters as compared to the coupes. EDIT: FINALLY! Here's the E85/6 version

Bummer!

The E89 Z4M is such a beast. I tried to buy one myself for track duty but they are so rare and I got impatient. I bought an E46 M3 instead.

A stripped and prepped E89 Z4M is supposed to be able to hang with Porsche GT3s on the track.

At present, the only Z4M is either an E85 Roadster or an E86 Coupe. The M guys haven't done their work on the E89 to make a road car yet (There are racing versions, but if you have to ask how much, you cannot afford it).

Sorry, I got my codes wrong. I meant the E86 M Coupe. When I was looking there was only one for sale in a 250 mile radius and it was red. I liked how it looked in that color, but I was worried about it being a cop magnet.

I wish BMW had made a E89 M Coupe road car. I read the issue was economics because the E86 M Coupe didn't sell very well.

I have a 3.0si E85. Its fast enough, and I wasnt wanting to spend the extra money for an M.

Although that might change now...after Friday.

It's probably fast enough. We all want moar power cause it's fun on the street. Then we get on the track and realize how much skill it takes to use the extra power on the track!
